A New Perspective on Healing: My Single “Reconcile” Arrives July 25th
This Friday, July 25th, I’m thrilled to share my new single, “Reconcile,” with the world. This is a song that poured out of me, an indie singer-songwriter piece with folk undertones that represents a significant turning point in my personal journey, and honestly, I feel it’s one of the most meaningful songs I’ve ever created.
For so long, living with OCD-related anxiety meant constantly striving for a state of “cure,” believing that true peace lay in the complete absence of my struggles. I’d wrestle with these feelings, push them away, only to find them returning with more intensity. But healing, as I’ve come to understand, isn’t always about erasure. It’s about reconciliation. We are human. We struggle and that’s part of life.
“Reconcile” is a deeply vulnerable prayer to anxiety itself. It’s born from the understanding that instead of fighting what’s within, we can learn to coexist. Through working with a wonderful guide over the past few years, I’ve discovered the power of becoming more neutral to the emotions and thoughts I once feared, even inviting them along for the journey. The opening line, “world, country, me…”, reflect a meditation technique that helps bring things into focus and keep me grounded.
This song was incredibly cathartic to write, and I truly believe its message can resonate with many who are navigating their own mental health paths. It’s about finding a new way to live, not just with our challenges, but alongside them, finding value in every step.
Be sure to listen to “Reconcile” on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and all major streaming platforms starting this Friday. I’ll also have a lyric video on YouTube for you to dive even deeper into the words. I hope this song offers you as much peace and insight as it brought me in its creation.
