Hey music and book lovers! Get ready, because I’m absolutely thrilled to announce my next show with the incredible Bushwick Bookclub on March 8th! If you’re new to the magic, imagine this: we all read the same book, and then a group of us musicians craft original songs inspired by it. It’s a truly unique and collaborative experience, and I’ve been hooked for eight glorious years!
For those who have been following my musical journey, you know I’ve written nearly an album’s worth of songs for Bushwick. Each show is a new adventure, and some of my most cherished creations have sprung from books like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Moby Dick,” “Charlotte’s Web,” and even Stephen King’s “On Writing.” Talk about diverse inspiration!
But this time, we’re diving into the dystopian world of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451.” Honestly, I hadn’t revisited this classic in ages, and re-reading it now… it’s almost eerie how relevant it feels. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of ideas, knowledge, and the freedom to think.
For this show, I decided to really challenge myself. I wanted to explore the many layers of “Fahrenheit 451,” so I’ve been writing multiple songs, each delving into different themes and perspectives. It’s been a whirlwind of creativity, and I’m buzzing to see which song resonates most when I perform them live next weekend!
If you’re looking for an evening of thought-provoking music, insightful interpretations, and a true sense of community, join us on March 8th. You’ll hear not just my songs, but the unique perspectives of other talented artists, all sparked by the same powerful book.
Come experience the power of literature and music colliding! I can’t wait to share this experience with you all. See you there!
