Headed into Skoor Sound to begin tracking the guitar, bass and drums for over half of the songs. The other more piano based songs we will do on a different day. We have not finished deciding for sure which classics we will in fact include on the record but we are for sure starting "Little Drummer Boy" today, and a quirkier original I wrote called "A Magical Guy". It's fun song from the perspective of Santa, about his process of getting ready for the big flight if you will.
Alex Dyring will be playing bass on this record and he makes up a fourth of my Steady Waters Band. He's such an intuitive, in the pocket player and I am so happy he's in on this. Antoine Martel is playing acoustic guitar and is also in The Steady Waters Band. When I first heard Antoine play my music on acoustic guitar I knew we'd be a good fit. Rootsy and versatile and sweet- his playing is just right for my music.
Eric Eagle will be drumming and producing. He's amazing at this juggling act. I love watching him work. I know this is his first Christmas in June recording so I am going to surprise him with fun Decor!!!
